Last minute gift wrapping { DIY gift tags }

Now it is Christmas Eve officially!  Merry Christmas to everyone! Everything is packed, wrapped, and decorated in our house! I just finished wrapping the last gifts.  As it turned out, I didn’t have enough gift tags printed.  A life without a printer doesn’t make the Christmas preparation easier. No, I am not complaining, because sometimes some creative ideas cross my mind. Recently I shopped at CB2 store (I like their simple, geometric, bright, and inexpensive dishware) and grabbed their new Christmas catalog 'Let’s Gift'. I used some parts of the pictures from the catalog for gift tags. I think, it is nice to reuse (not for commercial purposes, of course) and then recycle the catalog. The paper is a little bit thin, but I love the colors and simple geometry. All done! Enjoy your Christmas evening!

Sewing project {coasters}

Finally my first sewing project is done. An idea to make little Christmas gifts fast and easy turned out into everyday fights with my sewing machine. Not sure who won – me or machine, but I had to accept the results. The coasters are not perfect but look nice and Christmassy. I bought the fabric at the annual textile ‘yard’ sale hold by Textile Museum in Toronto. Their annual sale is pretty cool – one can find quite awesome quilt fabrics for a couple of bucks. I bought several different patterns and will try to improve my sewing skills soon enough!

My little ‘helper’ is lapping up the milk right in the middle of my photo session. Thank you guys!

Some late 'malinkas' are ripening in our garden. Also, some fall imperfections of Black-Eyed Susan are below - there is some special beauty in those fading flowers.
